The Artists

Edan Gorlicki

Born in 1982 in Haifa, Israel,

Edan Gorlicki is a choreographer, teacher and movement researcher based in Groningen, the Netherlands. As a dancer he has worked in Israel with the Batsheva Ensemble Dance Company and Inbal Pinto and Avshalom Pollak Dance Theater. In the Netherlands he has danced for NND/Galilidance and Club Guy and Roni. Edan has performed the works of many choreographers such as: Ohad Naharin, Inbal Pinto, Sharon Eyal, Itzik Galili, Paul Selwyn Norton, Emmanuel Gat, Guy Weizman and Roni Haver and many more.

Edan is the creator of LAMA movement research and teaches worldwide. His choreographic work is co-produced by the Grand Theatre Groningen. He has choreographed works on numerous companies such as: Random Collision, Sasha Waltz and Guests, NND/Galilidance, Club Guy & Roni’s Poetic Disasters Club, Codarts Rotterdam, Tanzhaus – Zeurich, Fontys Dance Academy Tilburg, Noord Nederlandse Dans and De Noorderlingen.

In addition, Edan is the co-founder of Random Collision, Groningen – a platform developing and bridging between young makers and their audiences.

Francesca Bardaro

Francesca Bardaro is a cross-media artist and digital scenographer based in Groningen (NL), working across the boundaries of performance, theatre, video, photography and installation.
Francesca was born and raised in Formia, Italy. She received her Bachelor Degree in Arts and Techniques of Digital Entertainment from “La Sapienza University” (Rome - IT). For the final project, she had the opportunity to research on the use of “Immaterial Scenographies” and new media in performing arts at “Aarhus University” (Aarhus, DN) and at “Statens TeaterSkole” (Copenaghen, DN) with Mark Coniglio of Troika Ranch.

Later on, she received a Master’s Degree in MFA Scenography from “Frank Mohr International Masters” (Groningen - NL), where she had the support of professionals such as Peter Te Nuyl, Mirjam Grote Ganseij, Sjoerd Wagenaar, André Joosten, Marc Warning, Theun Mosk, Gerardjan Rijnders. During this period, Francesca Bardaro has passionately started a research on the concept of “Embodied Psyche”, i. e. the metaphor of the body as psychic dimension in art. The Body as concrete material dimension translates the ultimate impalpable force of the human unconscious.

Since 2009 Francesca has focused on the conceptualization, video producion and direction her own performances including the solos “Woyzeck’s Introspection” (2010), “Aware Anesthesia” (2010), “Digging Into” (2011) and “Visceral Grip” (2012). In the last years, she took also the direction of collaborative projects such as “The Origin of Pace” (2012) merging different kinds of artistic expressions such as video, dance and music. She also produced several short videos and photographic projects which have been screened and exhibited at festivals and exhibitions worldwide.
